Motherboard help please/

I posted a question on 6-10-2010 about my G41TM-E43 motherboard but got no replies so I'm posting again. Is there any way to tell if a motherboard is dead? I purchased the above board(as is) installed all new ram, cpu,hd,psu.
Still can not get it to post. I have a vga monitor, mouse and keyboard that I know works. Doesn't post or anything. The on light on the monitor comes on then goes to the stand by(yellow light), also there is no light on my keyboard.
I thought at first that maybe the vga port on the mb was bad but now I thinking mb itself is bad because of no on light on keyboard. If anyone can suggest anything to try, I'll be very grateful.
Thank you.

in the future, just post a reply yourself with the message: "bump"

have you been/are you able to try the cpu, ram, etc. on another computer? try putting only the essentials in, the cpu, one ram stick, one hard drive. if it doesn't post, try another ram stick.
you could also try using your old components if they are compatible with the new board.

Thanks joh06937 for the fast replyand I'll use the"bump" next time. Yes I tried putting in only the cpu, ram,hd. and also the other new stick of ram. That did not work either. No, I do not have another computer to try the new ram, ect. on. My old computer components are not compatible with the mb that I'm having trouble with, nor will the new componants work with the old mb. Any other suggestions?
This is what I have for componants,
Microtex LCD monitor, (vga connect)
keyboard
Logitech tracball mouse
CD/DVd burner(spec's ? )
E8400 CPU(new)
Ram/ Kingston KVR800D2N6K (2 sticks/1g each)new)
PSU Corsair CX 400W (new)
750GB PSU/32M sata WD Cavier Black(new)
and the MSI mb
I live in a very small town so there is no place near that I can go for help.
Again Thanks for the help.

try resetting the cmos. on the mobo there should be two little pins (near the battery usually). unplug the chord from the back of the power supply and put something metal like a screwdriver across the jumpers for 5-10 seconds and try starting up again.

EDIT: hmm, looks like there aren't any jumpers. unplug the chord from the psu and remove the battery for about a minutes or so. press down on the power button a couple of times as well.

hmm, without another computer to try components this might be difficult. check to make sure everything is seated correctly and all wire are connected and connected correctly (i know that sounds condescending but you should rule out simple things first).

EDIT: you could also try starting without the hard drive connected and see if it will post.

when you start the computer, do the fans spin or can you hear the hdd spinning (indicating everything is operating except for the monitor)?

Thanks, I will try that. It will have to be later during the day. After I do, I'll return here and let all know what happens.
In your opinion what do think of this MSI Mb?(Newegg has the same mb.for 69.99 or 49.99 open box) or maybe a Gigabyte mb that the ram I have will work in?
Again thank you for your help.

Yes, when I start computer the cpu fan spins. I not sure about the hdd, my hearing isn't real good. I do have another hdd that I could try but I will have to figure out how to save the stuff on it first. It is an older one that I laying around with wd98 on it.

O.k. I tried this a while ago and still will not post.. The only other thing that I have not tried is using an adapter to go from my vga monitor to the DVI-D port on the motherboard. I'm not able to get one until maybe Thurs.
If anyone can think of anything else to try I'd appriciate it.
Thank You.

Update on problem. Finally was able to get an adaptor for my vga monitor to the dvi-d port on motherboard.
First I removed the battery from motherboard for almost a week. Then I replaced battery, connected monitor, mouse, keyboard and psu to motherboard. Turned on, cpu fan and blue light on mb works. But still does not post to monitor. Also mouse and keyboard (no lights)will not work.
I looked mb over real good and didn't see any burnt capasitors(solid state) or any damage to mb.
Removed everything from mb and reinstalled cpu, fan, monitor, mouse and keyboard. Still nothing. Tried it with one stick of ram also. Still nothing.
The monitor, mouse and keyboard do work on my older built with out any problems.
So, does anyone have any idea's what I can try or should I just get a new
mb and toss this one that I have?
Thanks all.

bump;
I want to thank all that tried to help me with my problem.
I'm giving up on this MSI motherboard and I purchased a Asus P5Q-green off of Ebay.
I do have a question about the Asus P5q mb.
I know that I need a video card so will this card work (Ati Radeon X300 128MB PCI-E video card PN#109-A26030-01ATI) or this one (Radeon X1300 DVI Low Profile Video Card 128MB ) in the Asus mb? Also what do you consider a fair price for either one? They are both listed on Ebay.
I don't do gaming or anything major, just the web, some games(peggle, bejeweled, casino games) and some photo fixing.
Thanks to all that help me.;)
