Hey all!
Does anyone know anything about the Gigabyte h61m-s2pv motherboard? A friend of mine has a PC that she wants to upgrade and asked me to recommend a CPU for her, I said a core i5 4690 and to overclock it, but she said her mobo does't support aftermarket coolers. Can anyone confirm this? I looked it up and didn't really find anything to do with this mobo because I know it is pretty old, and realized it doesn't even support 4th gen processors. If anyone has any info on these boards please help me out! Thanks :)

P.S I know most mobo's support aftermarket cpu cooling, how can they not, but she said this and I found it pretty peculiar.

Her motherboard doesn't support the 4690 as the 4690 is a socket 1150 processor as to the motherboard is a socket 1155. She could upgrade to the 3570 and just use an aftermarket cooler such as the 212 evo from coolermaster.

As above, on H61 you'd need a sandy/ivy bridge CPU which is 1155.

Also, a non-Z motherboard has limited overclocking options (if at all, as most models have none).
