Motherboard not booting from hard drive

Hi, I have just built up my new computer,
Celeron D 326 - http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/93132/rb/21720009484
512mb Kingston Value Ram - http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/64188
Asus Motherboard - http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/113956
Using an old Hard drive, It boots fine into linux Live cd's, and windows installer. Although whenever I go through the setup process of windows, when it comes to restarting it just boots from the disc again, into a continuous loop. If I take the disk out it comes up with the following error message:

"Disk boot failure, please insert system disk and press enter to coninue"

I can't find anything about this, but I can remember having the same problem with my other computer, and it was something to do with the RAID setup (although i am not using raid)

Can someone please help, this is really annoying me, and i cannot find anything to help

Thanks, Lee

Raid is disabled, and I'm sure the boot order is right (CD then HDD) Also I have checked the jumpers (every combination on the hard drive) to no avail, I'm trying it with the 80 gig drive out of my external caddy now, without any OS on it when it tried to boot i got a different error (yaay) I just hope i can get XP to install

Update: No luck with trying again, although now when io boot from HDD it says system disk error, press Ctrl + Alt +delete to continue, so that sounds windowsish!

Update 2: At last I'm getting somewhere, booting form the Hard Drive, but all my windows CD's seem to be dodgy, XP Pro gives Disk read erros after inital setup, Home reports a missing file, now to try MCE!

I've eventually fixed it, the bios just needed updating, although it's pretty bad that it wouldn't work out of the box imo
