Motherboard Question

Hey there everyone, Stephen here, I just recently purchased parts for my first computer build and I have a question about motherboard drivers.

My build consists of an Asus Z170A motherboard, Intel i7 6700, a tlink wireless adapter, NZXT s340 case, MSI GTX1060 gaming X 3GB, 16 GB of g.skill ram, EVGA 650W 80+ gold psu. Due to the NZXT case not having any room for an optical drive (which is fine) I'm concerned about my motherboard. I have been doing some research and come to terms that I will have to download the Asus Z170A drivers on a flash drive on a separate computer which is no problem at all. Windows 10 64bit comes in a USB so that's not an issue, once I'm passed that however, I'm not sure what motherboard drivers are a MUST to be downloaded and installed. I went to the Asus help website in search of drivers, and I found a lot of them https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_Download/

Basically my question is which drivers do I need to install on the flash drive so the motherboard on my new computer can work properly? I am assuming all of them, but if that is incorrect please let me know!

or would it be easier to put the CD that's provided with the motherboard, into my lap top and download those drivers onto a USB stick, then install them on my new computer and then go and update what I have?

Okay awesome! I appreciate the response. Now I do know that most of the drivers from the cd will be out of date, will windows update the motherboard drivers as it sees fit? Or do I have to go on manually?

Don't even use the CD. Download the latest drivers from the manufacturers website.

I'll download the cd to a flash drive in case something happens but as for downloading the drivers from https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_Download/
Which drivers need to be installed? Do I download each and every one of those on the list?

Good thing I was taking notes! I never would have known to do three double takes, phew!

Jokes aside, during first boot should I have the USB with these drivers connected first? Or can I start with windows 10 first and then open the zip folders?

Stephenms, you can first install Windows and then connect the USB to the PC and run all the files to install the drivers.

That's what i had assumed, thank you!

As for the drivers to my motherboard, I have already downloaded them into a flash drive and they are in zip folders. I just transfer them to my windows 10 computer and unzip them and windows 10 takes over?

No, you unzip them and run the install file. It's just like installing any other piece of software.
