Hey guys, as title says ive replaced my motherboard from an ASUS to a Gigabyte. Problem is i have been getting slower boot speeds than usual. I have tried turning off un used startup programs and still boots up very slow especially where the Welcome screen shows up. Im afraid ill have to reformat but i do not have the space to do that and time. Is there a solution to this problem?

Thanks for your time guys, Help is greatly appreciated!

Have you done a repair install since you changed motherboards? If you haven't, then that is your problem. You have all new hardware now and the computer is having problems. You either need to do a fresh install with a new drive so you don't lose data or you need to do a repair install. A fresh install would be better to do.

Ok so ive decided to do a fresh install without installing it onto a new hard drive. Basicly the other way around installing vista onto my main hdd since ive added another hdd to copy files onto so that way once my main hdd is reformatted i can add those files onto my main hdd. The new hdd i have added is not mine. I am not sure how to reformat my main hdd, can anyone help me?

The Operating System install cd will format the drive for you, providing its the drive that its getting installed on. If not, then you need to go into disk management and format it there, or right click on the drive and click on format.
