Greetings, Just picked up a bigger harddrive. Minimum requirements: SATA host adapter card or SATA connector in motherboard - Available 3.5" internal bay.

Haven't opened the box yet, I'ed like to know if this motherboard capable. I don't mind putting a card in.

Intel Pentium III Processor 450MHz 76487-OEM-0028182-18172, Cashe Ram 512, System Memory 384.

What do you think? Thanks Richard

Uh no. Your motherboard is way too old to be SATA compatible unless you buy a separate addin card.

Johnb35, Thanks for taking the time to reply. I don't mind adding a adapter card, shouldn't be to dear, Would that do it?

The only problem I may see is most sata controller cards require windows 2000 or higher. What operating system are you running?

No, plus you would have less problems with getting another IDE drive. As if you were to get the sata addin card, you would have to install drivers for the card, before you could install windows.

Makes good sense. I had just gone to Newegg. I see you posted that. I see some one had asked the same question on page 3. Thanks for taking the time. I'll take this back and get an IDE.

Have a great New Year. By the way today is the 11th day of Christmas, tomorrow is Christmas day. Have a holy Christmas.
Thankyou for your help, I'll watch for you on the forum. Richard Charshafian
