Hi,

I was clearing out my loft and i found this:

It made me want to build a new media computer :), so I was wondering where I can get a motherboard with the following ports. in the past i have used Komplett and CPC. But Komplett is no longer in the uk only in ireland :(

  • DVI-D Port
  • HDMI Port
  • Optical S/PDIF Out Connector
  • IEEE 1394a (Firewire)
  • eSATA
  • D-Sub Port

It would have to be a MicroATX Form factor, as i no longer have the space :(

Thanks in advanced for your help

Look at his location, he's in the UK, Newegg is useless to him as far as buying is concerned. I recommend Dabs, Aria or Novatech for UK customers, personally I like Novatech.

What CPU are you planning on running in this PC? That determines what board you can use. Most of the boards these days have DVI-D, HDMI, E-SATA and a D-Sub. Yes, any of the boards in the link above will be good for you, we just need to know which CPU you want (Intel or AMD) and then we can find you something.

Obviously... I wasn't sending him to newegg to purchase the motherboard. I was listing his potential choices. I'm not going to list out all the motherboards by typing them into this box...

Why would you choose Msi?? are they good i have generally only used asus and gigabyte.. oh this motherboard will be used for my media computer

i'm not really fussed but around £30-£100. my buddies are saying intel LGA1155 moherboards are crappy.. and don't support FDI is that true??

that is bullcrap. Intel 1155 is only outpaced by Intel LGA2011. They are the best for gaming and you will not get anything better from AMD period.

Your 'buddies' are lying to you mate. LGA 1155 is a great platform and will be with us for at least another year yet.
