Motherboard suggestion for AMD 64 X2 4200+

finally time to break down and upgrade. don't want to spend a ton of course. but I do want onboard raid if possible. and can anyone point me in the right direction for ram for that board. looking for 2gb. thanks!
 
I have a amd x2 64 3800+ and 2 x 512 pny 667 dual channel I also am looking for a good cheap board AND PCIE CARD 256 OR BETTER PREFER ATI AS AMD BOUGHT THEM

NOTE: ECS GEFORCE6100SM-M V1.0 BAD NEWS ECS TOLD ME THEY ARE JUNK THEY HAVE DEFECTS VIDEO DIES MINE LOST ALL ONBOARD FAN POWER TOO CPU AND CASE FANS HAD NO POWER THEY SOLD OUT REMAINING BOARD TO A CLOSEOUT COMPANY THAT SEEMS TO BE SELLING THEM EVERYWHERE ECS SAYS UNLESS YOU BOUGHT YOURS FROM AN AUTHORISED DEALER THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE V1.0

I'm just woundering with amd being ati if there will be better performance with the fact there the same company I guess I'm a little off topic but when looking at cpu's that are amd will we be better off using a board and video designed by or for our cpu's company?
