Ok my computer died a couple weeks ago and I want to build a new one.
I can't reuse everything but I have speakers, monitor, keyboard, mouse, DVD burner, DVD player, and a floppy drive. I don't have any fans and if the heatsink that comes with the processor will do I'll stick with that (I care more about cost than noise).
I've pretty sure on these specs:
1.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822144701 HDD
2.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144126 Case
3.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150173 Graphics card
4.http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=AD50DB81A5CA7304 ram
5.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115028 processor
But I don't know what to do for a motherboard, I know I want SLI for the future, but I don't know what chipset to get.
This computer will be used for mild to moderate gaming (none of the super new stuff), CAD and other engineering software, and schoolwork.
I want a good motherboard so I can upgrade later but I don't want to spend over 1,200 for the computer. Any other suggestions on components is welcome also.
