Motherboard suggestions

I am planning on building my own desktop and have come up with the follwing list of components. But at the moment im really stuck for a mobo. If any one has any suggestions for the ideal motherboard i would be very grateful. Also if anyone can spot any compatability issues with my current components i would be very happy to hear them. Thanx :)

I see you're going to buy an 7950GX2? Quad SLI setup even.. well... it may sound cool,.. but ive did some research on it already. SLI's performance increasement is most noticable on higher resolutions. (higher than 1280x 1024,.. wich is still a bit low) so for quad SLI to pay off,.. you'll need really high resolutions,.. like 2048x ... (non widescreen)

so.. tbh.. i really suggest getting 1 (or 2 if its a must for you) 8800GTS(s) since they're about the same price and performance.. except the 8800 is a single GPU card, meaning an SLI setup with those would be more worth it.

not to mention that the 8800 is a DX10 card ;)


anyway,.. the eVGA 680i motherboard would be great for that setup i think
 
Thanx for replying. The eVGA 680i motherboard looks really good. Does it come with a 7.1 surround PCI sound card or do i still have to buy that?

About the video card, would i see any difference at all if i was using the 7950GX2 instead of the 8800GTS on a 19 inch widescreen TFT Monitor. Also would there be considerable difference between 1 x 8800GTS and 2 x 8800GTS? Basically i am a bit worried of buying a poorer video card that would defeat the point of a high end system. Also i'd rather buy a dearer video card than OC a cheap 1. Thanx again for all the help. Ive been finding it pretty tough to find some of the components in England for reasonable prices. Most of all the RAM. I found this on Newegg:

But since newegg doesnt post abroad the cheapest equivilent RAM in the UK that i can find is £986.99 ($1,926). Its really hard finding 2GB sticks. Anyway im rambling, Thanks again for all the help and any more would be greatly appreciated.

the 8800GTS is basicly as fast as a 7950GX2. except that the 7950GX2 is a SLI-setup on 1 card already, while the 8800GTS is a single GPU card.
(but the 8800GTS GPU is just as strong as the 2 GPU's of the 7950GX2 together )

so.. I sould go for a 8800GTS instead of a 7950GX2. you wouldnt even need 2 at the start.. but could add one later on if you want.

as for the difference.. yes... its quite noticable. Im running 2 7800GTX's in SLI at the moment.. and i can still play the newest games maxed out. (now it starts that i cant max them fully out anymore i think) but my cards are already 2 years old... so its not so bad tbh :)
