Motherboard temps

Hey all,

My A8VN32 SLI Deluxe is idling at 45C and the X2 4400 is at 40C... Granted I know the stock heatsink wouldn't do much better than that and even when I'm gaming it only goes up to like mid to high 40's for CPU... but the mobo seems always hotter temps then the CPU which shouldn't be. I think it has to do with the fact that the front 80mm intake and rear 120mm exhaust don't seem to be spinning all that fast.

I have them connected to the FAN ONLY molex of the PSU (Antec TP II 550w) so I can't control them via mobo or BIOS... is there any way to speed them up or do something because the temps seem high

I wouldn't have a fan in the front of the case, I have found that it is useless their. I would put it on the side of the case, if you can't right now try to do some case modding.

I will think about trying to do something with the side but that might be difficult, in the meantime I have 2 old LED fans from Antec that I just put in and they lowered the temps dramatically, now idling at 39C CPU and 40 MB, not the best still but much more confident now. Plus, this on a really freaking hot day so.

I also used some engineering and electrical tape to secure a 120mm fan in as an extra intake so now I have 3 fans, 2 intakes and one exhaust. It seems much cooler to the touch in there now and the temps above prove its working.

The only other thought I have is to get some Arctic Silver 5 on the CPU because I think some of the paste got wasted in the CPU installation and then subsequent examination. I think I'll just keep the current heatsink and just try to get some Arctic Silver 5 on there hopefully lowers the CPU temps and thereby lowering the MB which seems to be greatly effected by CPU temps on this board.
