I am trying to get the latest version of bios and any update that my motherboard could use. Its a msi motherboard from 2002 and the bios is the version it came with. Is there anything I can do for this or is it to out of date?

Do not update the bios unless the latest update fixes an issue that you may have. If the update goes wrong you will be left with a paperweight. As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

I forgot to mention what the problem was when I tried to update. I went to the MSI website and tried to download there live update tool. Well it made my computer crash and then blue screen. But I would restart and all be fine. So I figured I would not do that again. I dont have any problems just figured if there was anything I could update that would help in the least bit I would try it. My bios version is 7.00t

I disagree with the "if it is not broken, then don't fix it." I may not be an expert yet but I agree with the notion of (as long as it is financially sound) pushing yourself, the people around you, and the tools you use to be better. Not an attack on you John but I have just always really disliked that saying.

I updated mine because of the amd phenom 955 chip that I am planning to buy soon. Would not run under the current bios setting that I had when I bought the board. Now it will run it. And I have no problems.

Agreed, plus if its for a CPU update you need or added features.

What! With a Bios unless the update fixes a issue/added features or is a update for a CPU that you need, there is no reason to update it.

It's a saying that can be used out of context. In this case John and Stranglehold are correct as there would be no gain at all unless for the reasons they stated.
But the saying is usually tied with archaic machinery that goes on and on and on, but applying modifications would enhance it.
