Motherboard/Vid Card Problem

I have an Asus P4P800 SE motherboard. I also have a AGP8x 256MB GeForce video card. I have tried three video cards with this motherboard and none have worked. I then tried a old 16MB vid card and it works. Is this compatibility issues or a hardware defect? It is still under warantee, but I dont want to send it away if it is not defected.

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

well i built it myself about 7 months ago. the video cards never worked except the 16MB card, i was at school and didnt have the time to ship it away cause i needed it for school.

The power supply only has 18A on it's single 12v rail. That is extremely weak for today's standards. Not knowing exactly what video card you have, I can't say for sure this is your problem, but it's certainly not helping things :P

So how have things "not worked". Do you mean the machine won't POST or what?

This is a shot in the dark and there is a good chance I'm wrong but, maybe the new cards don't work because in the bios the agp accelerator isn't on and that's why the old one works because it does not require the accelerator. Just a shot in the dark.

the accelerator is turned onin the bios.
should i get a new power supply to fix the problem? does that seem to be it?
