Motherboard

that 2nd x16 slot being only 8x speed in sli isen't so good. theres plenty of boards that offer full x16 speed on both (or all three) x16 slots.

heh, spam links in the sig of somebody that appears to be a legit member. one of the best ways to advertise :P

Yes actually I am here for a legit reason not just advertising.

Ok the real question. How much does it cost to get a mother board for a core 2 duo cpu type with two 16x pcie slots for sli ? Or would it just be better to get one pcie 16x that ran fast from a company thats reliable that has mother boards in my price range($100 or less)?

My goal here is to have a pc that can run bf2 bf2142 CS half life and some other newer games on high.

well, the two good mobo company that i know of are ASUS and GIGABYTE. not sure about the rest, there maybe some other good ones that i dont know...

anyway, GIGABYTE mobo with one PCI-e:

or this one

not sure the difference between the two, my guess would be just the FSB... but not sure...

ASUS mobo that has 2 16x PCI-e
(nForce 680i)

or
(nForce 650i)

combine either one of these with a good GPU and C2D e6600, your rig is unstoppable!!

EDIT: of course your other hardware must support the config first... lol :D

hope this helps.. :)
