MOTHERBOARDS - ASRock 990FX Extreme3 vs MSI 990FXA-GD65V2 - which is better?

The GD65 has a better Phase design, which means that it is a better board for maintaining a high stable overclock. It is 8 phase where the E3 is 4+1 phase. Basically the GD65 provides the same power cleaner to your CPU.

A FX8320 will fit as will a GTX 570. The Graphics can be had better for the same price. A HD7870 for example performs better.

YOu don't need 1000 watts and it is probably a non quality brand. So I ask again, what brand is it?

Thank you for the info. This is very helpful. Let me take a look at the HD7870. Any other suggestions for graphics?

I haven't yet decided on the brand of PSU. Ideally I would get a used one off craigslist or ebay. So it probably wouldn't be of a quality brand except sometimes you can find some used Dell ones.

Preferably I want to spend $50 or less on a PSU. I can find 850w or 1000w PSU used for $50 but of course they are not the best brand unless I get lucky.

What PSU do you recommend? I am open to suggestions. And what wattage do you recommend for the high range of graphics cards and AMD FX-8320 processor and up to 5 hard drives? Ideally I would like to have as many as 10 hard drives. Trust me I will use the space! Between all my drives and externals currently I have used up 5TB (terabytes, not typo) of space! Plus I want at least 1 backup of ALL my data. That's why I want so many hard drives. And when I have more I will easily use up 10TB of space in 6 months, not including the backup.
 
Brand of PSU matters a lot. I suggest against buying used at all. Even just open box. It is a hazard to the rest of your computer. And most companies will not RMA for power supply damage, or water damage (XFX being the major exception).
If necessary drop down on the graphics card and get a quality new 600+ watt power supply. Something from Antec, Corsair, Coolermaster, OCZ, NZXT, PC power and cooling, Seasonic, Silverstone, XFX, or kingwin. A good unit is going to run you between $60 and $150 depending on the watts you need. YOu will not need more than 650-750 watts for your setup.

I personally recomment the Corsair CX600 or the OCZ modstream 600 watt.

Ahhh now I am scared! Ok I will not be buying used!!
Is 600W enough for all my components? I wouldn't mind paying $10 or $15 for the upgrade to the next level of wattage if it increased performance. But not if I don't have to. I've learned that $15 here and $15 there quickly adds several hundred dollars to the PC build.

I use 600 watts and it runs just fine. I ran it with 4 hard drives, a overvolted/overclocked i7-2600k (HT on) and a overclocked overvolted GTX480 and never had an issue besides heat and Duke power. Keep in mind your GTX570 is a revision of the GTX480 and uses much less power.

I don't actually have the 570, it was just a consideration. Actually after your suggestion, I might get the HD5950 or HD5970, which is a better card.
 
I have never seen a HD5950. Not sure if it is just rare, or nonexistant, but either way neither is really all that great at 1080p. You are limited to 1GB of vRAM which is a very limiting factor these days.

Personally, I would try for a HD7870 or HD7950 before a 5970. They are less power hungry, and will outperform the 5970 by an okay margin.

it was a typo. I meant to say 6950 or 6970

and actually I might get HD7870
