Motherboards without onboard components?

The onboard components always seem to fail on every computer I've ever created. Are there quality motherboards without onboard components?

Only onboard components are the sound and lan. Video is no long on the motherboard for newer systems, its now on the cpu die. If you constantly have onboard components going out then you have an underlying issue. Would be either just be bad motherboard brand, bad psu or power outages. What kind of issues are you having?

Then I would assume you have power surge coming through your internet line taking out your network card. You have dsl or cable? I would contact your provider to make sure your incoming line is properly grounded.

I'm always having to install network cards
So use the onboard until it dies?

I've had a couple of them die, since it's the standard template for most boards you'd likely end up paying more for a board without one. Plus you can generally use them for a couple of years anyway as the integrated component.

AMD AM1 is a system on a chip. Most boards still supplement audio and LAN chips for superior performance. Having said that AM1 performance is so garbage I wouldn't consider it.

Beers how much more on topic could I possibly be? He's asking if there are platforms with no additional components on the board. I responded with pretty much the only consumer grade desktop platform where that is the case. That's about as on-point and on topic as it gets dude.
SOC= no necessary additional IC's.
