Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem????

Hey. Thanks for your consideration. I have Optimum Online (15mbps,...not the BOOST/30mbps) with a Scientific Atlanta WebSTAR cable modem. Can I go faster with a new/better modem. I read some good reviews on the Motorola Surfboard SB5120, SB5101, and SB5102. Whadaya think? Your feedback will be appreciated. Thank you!
 
What speeds are you actually seeing? If you are at the top of your providers speeds, then no you will not be able to go faster. But if you are way below the rated speeds, then there might be some tweaks you can do.

The surfboard is a great modem, but there is not much you can do to it to make it faster. It runs as fast as the connection allows.

Sometimes you can tweak your OS to get some more speed.

Go to www.dslreports.com and click on the tools tab up top. There you can check your speeds and run a tweak test to see if there is anything you can change.

And no that site is not JUST for dsl, it is also for Cable connections.
