Mounting cold cathodes

Well I've just completed my first case mod and I have a case window. Now I want to get a cold cathode kit which comes with dual 300mm cold cathodes and everything else it needs. What I want to know is where do I mount them? Do i just put them side by side at the top of my case? Are there places where people generally put them or is it just trying different places to see where you get the best light?

I'll have to watch this and see. I'm looking to get some soon too, but possibly UV instead. (No real difference)

with out looking at your case i would say put it where you like :D. It's really a personal prefrence thing. I used colored zip ties and attached it to the HDD rails in my case.

If you have a window, an ideal place to put them is one above and one below the window...

If you don't have space, you could mount them like this, Here's a picture of them in my Antec 900;

I used double sided tape ;)

Ok, i'll try that, thanks kornowski. It'll take me a couple of days to go and get the lights but ill try above and below the window. It makes sense.

I put mine on the PSU rail at the top of my case, so that the tube itself is outta sight, but it lights up the case

Well I installed them today, it's not dark enough yet but so far they seem to light up the case pretty well. I was having trouble finding a place where they'd fit, but I was able to get them either side of the window. Thanks for the help

hey you guys quick question about these cold cathode lights i bought the kind that have a rocker switch to turn them on and off. well i didn't want the switch so i unhooked it now that i have installed the lights they don't work does the switch have to be hooked up for them to work? i am pretty sure i wired them right also if i was to plug the two wires back into the switch that i unhooked how do i do that? does it matter which way they go? meaning is one positive and is one negative?
