Mouse and Keyboarded opinions for new Rig?

I've found my mouse, so I just need a keyboard.

Have some kicking around work, so Ic an pick one up with my staff discount.

I don't need anything fancy, though something with nice response and smooth typing would be nice to have. The loud clicky-clacky ones bug me to no end.

I'm not going to be hardcore PC gaming, but I also don't want a standard keyboard. If that helps at all.
Also not wanting to dish a bunch out of pocket for one. Besides, the reviews I've been looking at for some more expensive gaming boards have been... horrible.

Buy a mechanical. Filco's are nice. They aren't on Newegg or tigerdirect, strangely. Read up on the types of switches you can get, too

I guess Filco is a no unless it's local at a place like Bestbuy, Walmart, Futureshop, etc.
I might also just stop into a local computer place if I need to, save on shipping if it's cheaper that way.

A friend of mine said mechanical with cherry mx switches. No idea there were different switches to begin with, and he didn't go into detail nor did he post any keyboard as an example.

Looked into Cherry MX switches a bit. I kind of like how the MX Browns sound...

I am assuming the Logitech G510 and G110 are not mechanical? Couldn't find anything saying as such.

Mechanical is the way to go. If you are going to be gaming you'll probably want reds or blacks. Blacks are slightly stiffer then reds. Avoid blues. Blues are nice for typing, but because of the tactile feedback it's hard to quickly double tap on them.

I'd just get a basic mechanical keyboard, such as a Cooler Master or Rosewill. You can replace keycaps and all that later if wanted.
