Mouse is dragging

Not sure what the problem is, but the mouse doesn't always respond, or it drags. Yes it is wirless, but my wired one does the same thing. Almost seems like when the computer is processing, it does it, including in games. Gets really annoying when you are trying to aim and it hangs up. What's some ideas?

Thanks for the help

I don't think it is a mouse issue. Like I said, I've tried two different mice. Also have tried them in USB and in the PS2 slots

I would still try updating the drivers, and also scan for spyware/adware/viruses.

Update your drivers! It is doubtful that it is a virus or the like. Just go to the Microsoft (or other mouse maker) website and get the latest ones.

i used to have the same problems, what type of mice are they - and whens the last time you've reformatted?
this is a common problem without the reformatting of a disk over prolonged periods of time.
a couple of things i'd try right off the bat is:
1. scan with ad-aware se
2. anti-virus scan
3. defragment
4. disk cleanup, preferably aftermarket program, such as "ccleaner" or something that'll also fix disk drive issues for you.
if all else fails, back everything up and give it a good healthy reformat. i do that at least every 6 months or so. sometimes ill do it after the first two months, depending on how much time i have on my hands and how much of a difference i notice in the depletion of the operating systems functionality (OMG my dads comp desperately needs a reformat)

I will try the driver update just for kicks.

It's been about 6 months since my last format. I've reinstalled windows w/o format a couple times since, because of new computer setup.
I will also try the defrag and scan disk and see what happens. I am trying to avoid format since I have so much info on there and don't want to start over.

Thanks for the help, I will report back ASAP :)

Formats generally help like night and day. If you can backup your data or have a friend help by backing it up to his system. I've backed up 2 different friends data before at the same time as I had a 300gb HD in my old system. Reloads just make things run soooo much better. Just a thought. :)

Oh, storage isn't the problem. Just don't want to go through the hassle of reinsalling my progs.

I did reformat and SO FAR, everything is ok, but then again, I've only been on it for about 10 minutes after formating.
