Mouse is jittery?

Just today my mouse started acting jittery like when i go to point at something its like its pulling away from where i wanna point, its an optical mouse so theres not lint stuck in the rollers or anyting, could it be some type of spyware that screws with the mouse or something like that, its basically a new mouse, only a couple weeks old.

i had the same problem with my optical mouse, i came to the conclution that it was spywear, but none of my software picked it up. (avast spybot norton). i got a new mouse on the warenty, check the warent and see what it covers.

Another great site to get alny and all the free spyware programs from is
www.FreeTechAdvice.com . I just found this site on the web and it seems pretty cool. They have the links to spybot, windows anti-spyware, ad-aware, winpatrol and so on. All these progs are free so definately download a couple. I had the same problem once before with my mouse and it was spyware related.
 
What about this...

Have you by any chance changed the surface you use the mouse on? IF it's a reflective surface or has an unsuitable texture, it could result in a problem that you are describing. Also check that there is no dirt stuck on the sensor.

My opt mouse only works with plain surfaces, a cat mousepad and wood grain made it jump like that....
 
thanks for the suggestions turns out it was my mouse pad, i had just changed that and really didnt think that would make a difference, i guess it does. thanks again

Good good

Seems to me that the mouse manufacturers mislead people by telling them that their optical mice work an all surfaces except highly reflective ones such as glass. This is why many people wonder what's wrong with their mouse!
