Mouse isn't being recognized by software

The problem I am having is (I think) a weird one, if I plug my mouse in windows recognizes it and installs their "generic drivers" and I can navigate with it just fine, but when I try to use the software that I downloaded from the website to assign macros and use different profiles, the mouse isn't recognized, in fact I get a message that says "mouse not recognized." This happened to me with another mouse and I assumed it was something wrong with it's software, but I just bought a new one and I am getting the same problem.

The previous mouse was a Cyber Snipa Fierce, the new mouse is an Aivia Krypton. My motherboard is an ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 with the latest drivers.

Also I have tried using the different 2.0 ports on the back (I only have 2) and I get the same message with both, I have also tried using the 3.0 ports and I get the same issue. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it because if I can't get this problem fixed I am going to have to take this mouse back and use some wireless mouse and since I'd like to play games on this computer that's not what I want to do.

Does anything else lose connection using the USB ports? If not a weird problem. Maybe try using a USB to PS/2 adapter.

The ports that the mouse have been connected to, they work with other things like the keyboard, flash drive, and the mouse itself will actually work (that's what I am using now) its just when I try to set macros and stuff that the software says that the mouse isn't recognized. I don't have a ps/2 adapter but if i find one I will give it a try, thanks for the reply.

Go to Device Manager, under 'Mice and other pointing devices' uninstall any HID Device (right click and choose uninstall) you may have unplug and plug in your Aivia after.

Yeah I have tried that a couple times already and it didn't do anything. I don't understand how a mouse can work but the software that is supposed to be used with it says it doesn't. Thanks for the reply =)

Edit* I went back and checked because I only remember uninstalling one device, and turns out I only have the one HID-compliant device.

Did the driver that came with the mouse install properly?
You may have to right click on the driver and run as administrator.
