Mouse + Laptop

I've been a desktop user since day 1 (about 12 years). Would it be safe to say that a mouse could be plugged into any laptop or do I need to look for laptops with specific ports?

I've not a big fan of the "controls" of laptops and can work faster with a mouse (that may change over time).

Yea i have a laptop as well as a desktop and with my laptop it has usb ports.

You can easily find almost any mouse on the market with usb hook up

no, if your laptop has USB ports, or PS/2 ports, you could just plug the mouse right in, thats what im using, a desktop mouse .
