Mouse pad

In my opinion, any mousepad that has that soft cloth surface is good. I don't like the ones with the plastic surface.

Really, you don't need to go try to find the perfect mousepad. Any $2 pad will do. I got one from Staples for a couple of bucks over a year ago, and my optical mouse has been working just fine.

Agreed, just your basic mousepad should work just fine now-of-days. It's not like it used to be where optical mice would only work on certain mouse pads(like the mouse for my old Sun system...)

The main reason I use a mouse pad is just to smooth the mouse out. Dirt doesn't mess it up quite as bad on a cloth pad and it's a bit easier than pounding on your hard table/desk.

About the only mousepad I've used that gave me problems was on by Fellows with a wrist pad. It was ridged and partly translucent causing my mouse would sometimes just go wild for a second... The mouse works great on any other pad. Plus it was a bit small :P
