i don't know what happened or what settings i accidentally changed but whenever i use the scroll wheel to scroll through documents or stuff on the web its as if its been changed into a back button:whenever i scroll,it causes the web page to go back to the very start?

it is very annoying because it means i have to click and drag to go down pages:mad: ive tried looking for a setting that i could change it back to normal, but i cant find it anywhere:confused:

can somebody tell me how to put it back to normal.

I think you should try an optical mouse . It will definately help you to solve your problem. Please do reply if it works. I will look for another solution otherwise.

what does an optical mouse have to do with anything? lol its the settings on a configured button hes having problems with not a track ball

go to mouse properties in control panel -> Wheel -> and select "The following number of lines at a time '

its an Aopen and i dont think it came with a program i just plugged it in. i also said i cant find any settings to change it back to just scrolling pages instead of going back to my original pages. are there any programs on the net that would have these setting?

no i meant, in control panel, under Mouse ,
it'll show the pointing device that is currently in use. select that and go to the tab "Wheel", under that, select the radio button : "The following number of lines at a time "

Is either of your shift keys broken/stuck? If you push shift and use mouse wheel it functions as a back/forward button. I've had a sticky keys before, might be your problem

it still dosnt work, it will scroll down the page but at the same time it will already start loading the previous pages!? i dont know what happened it was fine before?!

hermeslyre's suggestion was a good one, do you have a back-up keyboard you could try, to see if that would get rid of the problem?

its alright guys you can relax:P i unplugged everything and plugged it back in and then it suddenly back to normal:confused: i dont get how that changes things but owell my mouse is working properly now
