Mouse Wheel to sensitive?

I picked up a nice mouse for christmas. But I play minecraft, and you have to use the scroll wheel to select your item to use. (There is 9 slots scroll up goes left, etc...) But my new mouse wheel is way to sensitive and has no notches like my old one, and when i try to move it left one, it goes like 5 in minecraft, making it impossible to use. I tried looking at mouse setting but found nothing!

Could I get some help? :good:
 
didn't say which manufacture and model. Goto the manufacture and check there. Maybe some software to adjust all your features for your mouse.
