Mouse/Windows issue

Hi all

I'm hoping someone can help me with a mouse problem.

My 2yr old got to my 'Pewter' (as he calls it) and after doing god knows what to the thing, the mouse is playing up. I can't drag and drop from file to file or drag windows around the desktop. When i'm typing a document and click on a space to insert something it highlights the entire nearest word and i have to click on an icon a dozen times before anything happens.

Obviously it's a setting somewhere. I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 and have the latest drivers for the G9.

Oh, when i went into mouse settings and changed the primary and secondary buttons it worked fine.

/facepalm.

I assume this is a laptop?

Nope. PC.

I apologise for not pointing that out. System details are as follows:

Intel Quad Core Q6600
4gig ram
Nvidia 8800GT video card (latest drivers)
PC running Windows 7 Home Premium 32biy
G9 mouse (latest drivers)
G15 keyboard (latest drivers)

Let me know if you need to know anything else. I am at a loss. I have ried everything and it's a clean install working perfectly until the little fella got to it.

Oooh, me want...

I thought it "worked fine"? Well, go into mouse settings, and try adjusting the double-click speed. If that doesn't work, he probably busted your mouse somehow, like banged really hard on the buttons.

I've tried all the settings to no avail. It's a G9 mouse so worth a few bucks. I hope it's not dead. I won't be happy.

I'm now trying to find an old mouse that i have to see if everything works with that.

nice move! yes, its always good to have any spare or old parts especially for any mouse for you to be able to determine if its a software or a hardware malfunction.
