Move user folder?

I have 2 operating systems (Win' 8.1 x64) My main OS is on an SSD with the 2nd on a HHD, was wondering, if I moved my user folder (appdata in particular)
to the ssd and install most used software on the ssd, would that improve the performance of the system on the HDD?
just wondering if it's worth the effort.

Well, I did it, everything is fine so far, Firefox loads faster, but I don't know about the long run yet, but I like to experiment. I created an temporary administrator account and changed the user location in regedit. Will probably mess up with Windows update though.
