Moved computer, now it won't start

Went to restart computer to copy files to new computer and now it won't start. The green light on the back is on, and a green light on motherboard is on. When I push the start button, the green power supply light on the back goes off and nothing happens. I've checked connections, replaced CMOS battery, confirmed there's power, and also disconnected everything else from the computer. Any ideas? Just want to get some things transferred before it dies, which it may have done. It is an HP Pavillion P6000 series.

Did you do anything on the inside of it? There could be many reasons why a computer won't start.

1. bad power supply
2. loose connections
3. Other failing hardware

You don't need that computer running to transfer your data. You can get a usb hard drive adapter and then attach that to your new computer and transfer data that way. You will need to download a file to be able to ownership of your old user folder to where you can get to your files though. I can show you how.

i suspect a powe supply because a bad powe supply can cause that. also the hard disk may have shifted and the pwer connecters needs reinserting.
have you tried a new power supply unit.

When you say moved. Do you mean just unhooked and set aside. Did you fool around in the inside? It's hard to tell, there quite a few P6000 from Intel to Socket 939. Most seem to have on board video, did you install a video card? You sure you have your monitor plugged into the right port?
