Moving An Old Harddrive Into A New Computer?

Its Sage

So recently I decided that I wanted to take the hard drive out of my laptop that I used a long time ago, and put it into the PC I'm using now. I just have one question: that hard drive has an operating system already installed (Not sure which version of windows, the computer itself doesn't work any more). Am I okay to put this hard drive, with it's own operating system, into my new computer, running off of windows 7?

If this needs any clearing up, just ask and I'll do my best.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, but dont expect it to boot with the other computers hardware drivers on it. Plus it was probably a OEM copy of windows for the laptop and probably wont activate.

But sure if you want to clear it as in a new partition and format it, for use as storage drive or even a another OS for dual boot.

Your PC have a drive right? You can use the laptop drive as a secondary so use your Windows Disk Manager to partition and format the drive. Also you have to put it online for it to work.

I would, but the laptop I got it from doesn't work any more. It's an old Dell Latitude, and the monitor doesn't work any more so I can't make a partition. :/ What would happen if I just installed it?
