Moving files from one HDD to another on same PC

My PC has two HDD installed; #1 is newer and is my main HDD that I run my business from, and #2 I moved from my old PC and have used it only to temporarily park video files onto (until I burn them to DVD).

#1 (80GB) has XP Pro and #2 (60GB) has XP Home

My problem is, my main HDD #1 is about full; 74GB used, 6GB free.

Ultimately, I'm going to have to get a much bigger HDD; but in the time being I want to free up space on #1 that will get me by for a while.

My audio files are about 6GB; so is it OK to simply move all audio files from #1 to #2? And if I do, will I have to reconfigure RealPlayer so it will know where to find those files?
 
You don't boot from the #2 drive, do you? If not, I don't see any reason to keep XP Home on it; you should be able to use it just to store data... including 6GB of audio files, or anything else you want, as a Slave storage drive. If you can put video files on it, you can put audio files on it.
I would imagine you'd have to reconfigure RealPlayer to know that you've moved the files, but I have no clue how to do this, I'm sorry.

No, I don't boot from #2 (the HDD which came out of my old computer). So far, the only thing that I have used #2 for is to record Dr. Phil and Oprah Windrey shows (for my wife) to then burn to DVD. After burning, I delete them from #2. There is nothing else on #2 that I want to keep.

I failed to mention one other thing: I also have an external HDD connected to my system (which I have never used). It's new, and I bought it thinking I would need it; but I don't.

Can this external HDD be used as a third HDD?
 
Yep you can use #2 anyway you want and also the external. I normally do my back ups to one of my two externals.

yup. it will prob take a while depending on how big the file size it...it can take ~5-10 minutes for me to transfer a file between my hdd's that is like 2-3gb.
