Moving soon. Need new modem and router.

I have about a month until I am moving, and have begun looking at new internet providers. Presently we have 3mbps internet and will be upgrading to the 15mbps plan. Nothing extremely fast, but should be a big jump from what I am used to.

I have the option to lease the modem and router, but for the price it seems cheaper to just buy one. It will pay for itself after a few months.

My knowledge about them is extremely limited. Every time I have bought a router in the past I just looked at the picture and chose one to match the size of my house. Modems have always been provided. I have never bought one.

Can anyone recommend a modem and router for these types of speed with room to expand? Also, is it possible to get these as one unit now or do they still have to be separate units?

Would need to know what internet provider you will be using before we can recommend any modems as they usually only support certain modems. Also is it dsl or cable?

From what I saw from reading some other threads that asus router is the one to get. I would like to get a NAS system one day, and it is nice to see that it will support it once the time comes.
