Question for all of you familiar with the finer workings of thunderbird... My sister has been advised to backup any required files and reformat her hard drive(I don't know the root of her problem). She is using Thunderbird for her email and wants to know how to backup her mail folders. I had a look on the thunderbird support forum, even asked a few questions but no one wants to play... The FAQ's suggested a few files which need to be copied and suggested where you may find them but she had no files resembling those suggested...??? So short of saving each(nearly 500) individual message one at a time, how can we save the lot in a hurry??

you need to unhide all files first. then go to c:\documents and settings\(insert username)\application data\thunderbird

OK, I unhid(my machine) the info, this helps no end... Thanks for that. I also run Thunderbird so I just had a look at mine... Found all the folders and the mail. If I can locate the same on her system and back it up to a cd, how would we go about retrievibg it once she reinstalls Thunderbird??

For some reason, because I can send an email, my family thinks I'm some sort of computer expert...???
