hello everyone !!

i have two questions i would like to ask;

1. does anyone know how you can compress 10 albums or more into mp3 format onto a standard 80mb cd ? if so what software do i need.

2. how do i burn mpeg and avi files onto a dvd disc ? i need to convert these file types to dvd apparently but does anyone know how ? again could you recommend software

thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Do a google search for Audiograbber and Lame Codec. If you want to compress it even more then do a search for WMA V9 codec. For each format, the lower your bit rates, the more you can put on a disc in a given space.

Ok there is a lot more you need to be aware of, to burn MPG files to DVD they must (very few exceptions) have 48kHz audio, generally be in MPEG-2 format, and should have the correct VCD/DVD resolution of 352X240/288 NTSC/PAL 720X480/576 NTSC PAL. If these mpg files meet these requirements, they must be put into a dvd authoring program like dvdlab, and converted to \VIDEO_TS vobs. This can be burned through software like nero. AVI files are more difficult as they need to be converted to mpg first. I would personally use dvd2svcd (ignore the name of the software) to convert them.

However, you may prefer to test a one-click solution like dvd santa which does the whole video file>vobs process but at lesser quality output. The choice is yours, good luck!

i have since downloaded audiograbber and then the lame codec which i unzipped with winrar into audiograbber.

from there i still can't figure out how to get x ammount of mp3 files from my computer onto a std cd. :(

can anyone help

another thing i dont really understand is if the files are allready on my computer in mp3 format and i go to burn the cd, how come i can only fit arounf 20 tracks on per cd ? i am looking to fit on say 8 or 10 albums to play on my car radio which is mp3 compatible.

If it can play mp3cds you just set it as a DataCD/CD-ROM [ISO] and throw on the mp3s, that gives you access to the 700MB capacity, whereas if you select AudioCD it only allows for 80min. If you find you can't fit all the albums on the CD then use a program like audioedit deluxe (or this audiograbber which I've not personally tried) and convert them to lower bitrate mp3s.
