Perhaps foolishly, I bought a cheap MP3 player from Hong Kong on eBay.
When I got it I plugged it in and copied a track onto it through copy and paste into its folder thing (a removable disk in My Computer). I unplugged it and it played fine.
Then I went to add some more stuff to it and the removable disk was now empty and I am stilll unable to copy music onto it.
When I put the one track onto it, there were a few odd files on the removable disc which had disappeared.
