mp3 Service

I'm getting an iPod in a few months, so my little brother got excited and is now determined on getting a certain $60 mp3 player. Is there a mp3 downloading service that is like iTunes in the sense that you pay per song you download, not a monthly fee for say 15 songs and 1 audiobook. If there is more than one, can I get some recommendations/experiences anyone has had with any of these services?

You can try the Amazon MP3 store. It has excellent quality MP3's (LAME encoded at V0 quality), and their selection is decent. I suggest going there whenever you find something you like.

There is a way to do it.... but it is a fairly big process.
