Mpeg4

I bought a video converter that said on the website that it would convert to MPEG4, but I don't see it on the menu.
On the programs, it offers conversion to:
MPG1
MPG2
VCD
DVD
SVCD
& DivX

My thought was that it was DivX, but when I converted it to that, Windows Media Player wouldn't recognize the converted product, put up an error message and played a 5 minute 12 second audio clip (The original file was a three hour video) in the background of the error message. Any Ideas?

Well the only thing the program talks about is

Convert ASF,WMV,MPEG1,MPEG2,AVI to Divx(MPEG4)

So I assume that's what it means by MPEG-4 conversion. And the error message you get when trying to play it sounds like a classic codec problem. Now I know you say you've got it, could you download AVICodec and load the video file in it? That'll tell you whether you have playback support for any video file.

Ok, I installed that codec, but my AVI Files have worked fine and played, only when I tried to play the "DivX" file did I have a problem, but anyway, I'll give it a try.
