MS Express Visual C++ - Still free?

Hi all

Went here at weekend :
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-gb/express/aa700735.aspx
to download Microsoft's Visual C++ 2005 Express which is free for low end users. The site let me download a small installer program which I did, and tried running it but the installer refuses to connect to the site and times out after 5 attempts.

Is this offer still available, or is there a mirror site I could get the download from? Basically, any other way of getting this software as the installer doesn't work?

The actual link from that site downloads fine - I'm guessing that's the bit that worked OK for you, me too. It then puts an icon on your desktop called "Install Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition", when that is clicked on you agree to the EULA and the files are supposed to install direct from the internet, but the connection can't be found, but the PC is certainly online.

Any other thoughts / takers please?
