MS Office 2007 Trial Inquiry

Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding the 60 day free trial of MS Office (numerous versions are available on microsoft.com). I downloaded 2007 Pro, which is about 800mb. If I already have 2003 installed in full on my computer, will this cause a conflict? If I install 2007 will it overwrite 2003 or will it be a completely separate entity of programs available that I can delete in remove programs?

Thank you!

I think it will overwrite 2003 unless you specify a different directory, but even then it will most likely cause conflicts.

It is a different program, it will not overwrite or cause any damage to your other installation.

It will be called something else and be in a different directory. You will be ok.

Try openoffice.org it is like MS Office, but FREE!

No, the new office installs itself to a different directory and therefore should leave the current Office alone.

I also must say that I've used OpenOffice for about 6 months, and it's great. Much better than MS Office (it doesn't try to do everything for you) and doesn't require constant patching. Plus it's available in something like 75 languages or something! :D

*EDIT: Here's the list... http://l10n.openoffice.org/languages.html
