MS Outlook Distribution lists

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread...please move if necessary.

I use Windows at work, and we use Outlook a great deal.

I occasionally have to send out mass emails and have to use multiple distribution lists. But if someone wants to be removed from the list, it is a pain in the butt looking through 8 or so lists of hunreds of names trying to find one name.

Is there an easier way? I have no choice but to use Outlook to send all these out, so can't change email types. But does anyone know a better way to search these lists?

Steve here where i work we save them in a database such as excell or a notepad document and then you can search by their name that way and delete it before you copy and paste it into the email.

if you make contact cards for each person, and you delete the contact card of the person that you dont want receive the e-mail, then you can just click update in the distribution list and it will automatically delete him because there is no more contact card.

Thanks for the ideas, all.

We start with an excel file, so it sorts fine then, but then I can't sort easily once the list is made.

And we don't have a card for each person...just don't have that kind of space or patience. Their info comes from another database, then to excel, then to outlook.

It just would be great if I could find a name once it was on the list easily. No way to search that easily?
