msconfig messed up my programs

I opened up msconfig and disabled all the startups and the non-microsoft services. Then I renabled them. however, not all programs start up now, at least I don't think they do.

For Zone alarm, zlclient.exe is open according to task manager but the icon does not appear in the system tray. XP does not even detect a firewall on.
Same thing with the Nvidia icon in the system tray

What is wrong with my computer? please help!

Well the ZoneAlarm firewall seems to work. It's in the HijackThis log under the processes and as you say it's working. Now you should find the firewall on Start or somewhere and click on the icon to get it working in the system try. In fact I don't know as I never used ZoneAlarm.
Now I noticed couple of spywares/adwares.
Spybot S&D is available from here.

Download and Install Spybot S&D (if you haven't already), accept the Default Settings
In the Menu Bar at the top of the Spybot window you will see Mode.
Make certain that 'Default Mode has a check mark beside it.
Close ALL windows except Spybot S&D
Click the button to 'Search for Updates' then download and install the updates.

Next click the button 'Check for Problems'
When Spybot is complete, it will be showing 'RED' entries bold 'BLACK' entries and 'GREEN' entries in the window
Make certain there is a check mark beside all of the RED entries ONLY.
Choose 'Fix Selected Problems' and allow Spybot to fix the RED entries.

well actually zone alarm didn't work. zlclient is open but zone alarm is not. In fact, I could not open zone alarm at call. Normally, zlclient can't be closed from task manager, but i can close it now, which means that something is wrong. Also, windows doesn't detect a firewall on, so you know that's a problem.

I solved the zone alarm part by getting zone alarm to finally open by running the uninstall program. I went to the turn on zone alarm at system startup part and unchecked it and re-checked it again, and now zone alarm works.

However, the nvidia thing still doesn't work, and these are only 2 programs. I'm not sure if other programs are OK or not, ones that are not as conspicuous I guess. Are you sure spybot can solve this? Isn't spybot only for spyware and adware?
