Hey guys, I have read somewhere about MSDNAA and their free software distribution. I recently downloaded windows 7 professional via this service and I'm paranoid that they are tracking me to see what I'm doing on my computer because the software they give out is only for academic purposes. Here are the rules, to which all the students must accept before downloading:
I would like to know if it's even possible for them to track what kind of software I have on this computer (The computer that I downloaded the MSDNAA version of windows 7 on) right now. Since it's for academic purposes, and I have no school this winter break; I want to play games on this operating system. I fear that this might break the agreement.
- You may use the software for non-commercial purposes including instructional use, research and/or design, and development and testing of projects for class assignments, tests, or personal projects. You may not use MSDNAA software for any for-profit software development.
- The software available from this resource is restricted to academic need. The MSDN-AA Administrator may require you to provide verification of the academic need that has prompted this account. The account will be reviewed periodically to track the software you have accessed/downloaded from the campus hosted secure download server. Persons in violation of the campus site-license can lose all access privileges without notice.
