I have a fx 5200 card in my pc (msi MS-StarForce FX 5200 is the device description with AIDA32) anyway, when i install the newest display drivers (wicht halflife 2 recommends) i dont have any text in the menu's of BF1942.
the buttons are there, just no text.

maybe the bios isnt compartible with the newsest drivers (tough, my dad's geforce mx-440 has no problems with the newest drivers)
if so, what bios would i have to flash into it?
and i i have to flash it, could a FX5500 bios work? i mean, the 5200 and the 5500 hqave the same specs

hope someone can help me ;)

Wow thats weird... I don't know if it is even due to the new video card drivers because I have never heard of drivers doing stuff like that...

Can you still play the game even without the text?
Some of the files for the game may be corrupted so you could try reinstalling it...

thats not it, when i do roll back driver, everything works fine. (unfortunately, then HL2 is laggy as hell :( )
and yes, i can still play the game (just not MP, because i cant see the servers)

That’s a driver problem, your best bet would be to install earlier drivers, but you said HL2 sucks, why not try updating to a new patch that is not the most recent but still newer then the ones that make HL2 have bad FPS, if you old drivers was the previous to the new one, then there is not much you can do but wait for the new drivers.

You could play with your video card properties and see if something in there is messing with you game
