Hi,

I am speccing up my computer (homebuild) at the moment and I went into the local computer store and they recommended that I get an Asus A8N32 SLI Deluxe instead of the MSI K8N Neo4 Plat. Something to do with the UK warranty on MSI products.

How do the boards compare?

The ASUS would OC better (by a bit), and if you're using SLI than it has 2 16 x lanes.
The MSI has good layout, integrated sound card, and overclocks a good amount.

They are really well balanced, but if you have the money I would get the ASUS.

Warranty aside (since Im not one to ever worry about claiming a warranty ... if i mess something up its my own damn fault and nothing teaches better than having to fork over your own cash ... but that's just so you know that im not taking that into consideration). The MSI board probably more overrall rounded (all SATA3.0, onboard hardware audio, decent overclocking capabilities). The ASUS board is much more performance oriented (all SATA3.0 except for them stupid external type SATA connectors, way better overclocking) but lacks onboard hardware audio and probably costs a whack more :)

Also should I get a sound card for the Asus as the MSI had 7.1 audio onboard?
If you're into gaming, you might consider it :)

By a lot.

The motherboard has integrated the sound card yet
Uh............ huh?

uhm i believe it has onboard 8 channel audio, mine is just the A8N-SLI Deluxe, and it has 8 channel...
Hehe i know what the board has (or i am quite capable of looking it up) ... what i dont understand was the post :P

Depends on what you're looking for. As a generic statement I'd say yes.
