msn messenger 7 black out

on winxp profession with sp1 n sp2 the icon tht rotates when signin in to msn appears black. n after tht the there

are many black patches in the conversation window too. help.
 
System restore to a few days ago??

Also, open a CMD prompt and type in sfc.exe When it loads and does everything it will ask for you win XP disc, just pop it in the drive and it will replace al of your system files with the original microsoft versions.
