MSN Messenger & netgear 834 router

Hope someone can help... I've got MSN messenger 6.2 and have just gone onto broadband through a Netgear DG834 modem/router.

Now I cant sign into messenger when I'm connected in broadband, although if I go back to dial up it's ok.

Tried talking to the support guys at Netgear but having done exactly what they suggested and it still doesnt work. Do I have to disable or change some settings in the netgear firewall - if so what. And / or do I have to change settings in messenger?

Any help would be appreciated

If you go to "Tools" then "Options" then Connections tab. It should say that your connection is automatically detected. But in the same screen you can try using a proxy. Hope this helps.
