MSN Spaces...

Hi,

For some reason i haven't been able to get onto MSN Spaces. Whenever i try the address bar comes up with https://loginnet.passport.com/ppsecure/md5auth.srf?lc=1033 and then after about 15 seconds of thinking it goes onto "Page Cannot be Displayed."

Also one thing to note is that when i log out of hotmail and it comes up with he thing where it has a tick or a cross as to whether log out from each thing (Hotmail or MSN space) was successful and logout from MSN Spaces never always seems to have a cross. Don't know if this is anything to do with it?

Are you trying to open 'Your' space? or someone elses?

If trying to open your space... login to MSN Messenger, then once it has opened up, click on the "My Space" button near the top of the window just above the list of your contacts and next to you "new emails" button. It should then open up a new web-window and automaticaly log you into it.

I'm not that stupid ;)

I meant, when i try to do that or go on somebody elses, it shows the login address and starts loading but then just goes onto Page Cannot Be Displayed.

Have you previously been able to access it from that computer?
Do you get a pale yellow bar across the top of the page that says something about "ActiveX"?
Do you have any Parental/AdultContent restrictions active on your PC?... i believe the MSN Spaces pages can be set to "Adult Content" status.

Yes, no and no (as far as i am aware) respectively. I contacted the support and they said i should delete cookies and history and clear cache. I did that and it still didn't work. MSN spaces doesnt seem to work on either of the three computers that i have which are linked to one network, but it does work at school (but doesn't let me sign in there because my school blocked it lol).

Thanks
Stephen

ahh....yes i remember school was fun. The school IT admin had the computers(win98) locked down to, ...but we ended up getting around that small obstical :D
Cant remember anymore what the file/program was that we used to change, but it had something to do with setting the user rights(was ~6yrs ago).

We used to use the run command to open the file/program, then after giving ourselves "full access" we'd close the app then 'End Task' explorer.exe which would refresh the user rights for that login sesion only. :P

Where are these PC's? at home? do you have administrator rights for them?

PS. Does anyone know what file it was that could set the user rights? i wouldn't mind finding out again.
