k, since nobody has replyed to my other thread (coz it makes no sence i guess) ill make a much simpler one.....

1) Do I need a special waterblock so i can use a peltier on my CPU like at http://www.coolercases.co.uk/wc_pelts.htm (the Maze4-1 P4 Tec Block) or can i just buy a normal waterblock now and later put a peltier on it?

2) Has anyone ever takes off their Fan/heatsink from their GPU?, especially an ATI x800XT, coz im planin on puttin a Maze4 4-1 waterblock and 80w Peltier on it but im kinda worried about how to remove the fan etc......

Thanks,

dont want to venture into your first question. . . someone else would be better suited to answer it than me.

on #2, its just like takin off a heatsink on a cpu, remove and defeat any retaining pins or clamps, and then gently twist or pull/slide the heatsink off. clean off the paste or pad and ure good to go.

not sure what you asking in #1
you can put a peltier under you normal hsf, you'll see better results if you use it on you water cooling system
and you can buy a water block and fit a peltier later, you dont have to have one

yes, im def having it water cooling, its just that on the link the web site sells a waterblock for use with a peltier, so it confused me if i needed a special block like that one or if i could just use any waterblock.....from your post i guess that you can use any waterblock.....(but then, why sell a special one?)

can i mildly hijack this thread and ask what a peltier is, i was always under the influence it was something to do with voltage control, am i wrong?

not really, its a cooler system, cheap(ish) and brilliant, cpu can go to -10c on a good setup. Basicly its a flat pannel that you put between your processor(or anything you want to cool) and the waterblock. It bring all the heat from one side and makes it really really cold, but puts it on the other "hot" side that is then cooled by the waterblock. I think if you have watercooling you might aswell have a peltier......heres a link to what they cool like http://www.coolercases.co.uk/wc_pelts.htm Google it and find out more about them....

haha, weird! i was just thinking of starting a "Post you watercooled system", infact, i think i will..........

You shouldnt have to ... as long as you're getting fairly standard stuff you'll be ok

Dunno about the ATI model specifically never dealt with them but its pretty simple until you deal with models that have ramsinks glued on ... look before you buy :)

Dunno if forced-air is good enough to deal with a peltier.

Yeah i mean it can be done but not for some of the heavier peltiers (id like to see you effectively/conveniently cool a 220W peltier on air ... like i mean you could prolly pull ti off ... but its so much more convient with water IMO)
