Multimedia Hard Drive Enclosure?

Hey All,
My first post so here it goes. I have an apple macbook running mac osx leopard, in case that matters at all. I have an old 3.5 IDE hard drive and am looking for an enclosure. Specifically, I am looking for one that I can store movies on, plug into a television, and watch the video on it. It would have to be compatible to any television and could be firewire or usb connected. I have found plenty of them but that's the problem...I'm not sure which ones are best. Any kind of suggestion would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

never knew there were any :P
anyways i would recommend going with one that already has the disk in it.
And mainly for 2 reasons:
1. It's cheaper that way (most of the time)
2. New videoformats come out all the time you're going to have to buy a new enclosure anyway. That is if your planning on exchanging the hard disk you put in now with a bigger one.

Will it work just like that, shouldn't it need some kind of software for the television? Just curious how it works and if there are any compatibility issues I should worry about.

they pretty much all work on themselves, just need to set the tv on the right channel.
You just get your filesystem from the hd on your tv screen.
Have never seen compatibility issues between the tv and the multimedia recorder
there could be though between the multimedia recorder and the hd.
as long as their both ide or both sata your fine.
