Multiple Display Problem - TV keep flickering on and off but wont turn on

I have a EVGA 8800GT 512 mb. I am trying to hook the S-Video to the T.V. but it doesn't work. The T.V. keep flickering on then off whenever I adjust anything on the Nvidia control panel and you can see the desktop on the T.V. but it won't fully show.

Could it be my S-video to rca wire ?
 
Some tv's have issues with the proper resolution for example my tv only will show a picture up to 1024*768. Did you check your manual for the proper setting?
